| 1. For purposed of computing longevity pay of enlisted men, all periods of service (active and inactive) during which they were enlisted in or have held commissions or have held appointments as warrant officers or Army Field Clerks in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Coast and Geodetic Survey, Public Health Service, Organized Militia prior to July 1, 1916, active National Guard (of the several States, Territories and the District of Columbia), National Guard Reserve, National Guard of the United States, Officers Reserve Corps of the Army, Naval Militia, National Naval Volunteers, Naval Reserve Force, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve Force, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Reserve Corps of the Public Health Service, Philippine Scouts, and Philippine Constabulary, Regular Army Reserve, Medical Reserve Corps of the Navy, Dental Reserve Corps of the Navy, Enlisted Reserve Corps, shall be counted. |
| 2. Base pay is payable only to enlisted men with less than 3 years of service. All other enlisted men are entitled to the pay show in the appropriate columns, i.e., base pay plus an increase of 5 percent for each 3 years of service up to 30 years. |
