Most everyone has heard
of the battleship Arizona but few know that there were a total of 145
Coast Guard and Navy vessels in the waters of Oahu, Territory of Hawaii on
7 December 1941. The names and designations of the 145 vessels and
the eventual fate of each vessel, where known, is detailed below.
Ships names prefaced
with USCGC (United States Coast Guard Cutter) or USS (United States Ship)
were commissioned ships. All others were in service.
